February round-up!

The-Newbie-date

Hey Newbies,

Thought I would do a little round up post of what I have been up to this month and other blogs I have been loving!

So this month marks 3 month of doing Blogilates full on and I have been loving it but its time to change it up so I am going to be completing Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide 1. I tried before but couldn’t stick to it but now I fee like I have the motivation to do it, if anyone out there is using the guide comment we can support each other!

I mentioned at the start of the month that I was giving up social media apps on my phone and I have to say that it has been nice, I still reach for my phone when I wake up but I am trying to change that one. During March I will be challenging myself to save more money stick around for the full post on that.

I am craving some new gym gear and I have found some which I thought I would share with you over on my Pinterest!

Blogs I’m loving:
The Balanced Blonde

The Skinny Confidential

Skinny Taste

There you have it, comment below with your favourite blogs and if you are challenging yourself to anything in March 🙂

Healthy on a budget

coffee

Morning duckies,

I thought I would give you some more tips on how to eat healthy on a budget, since you can never have to many money saving tips!

1. Make the freezer your friend – If you are single or live alone, making big batches and freezing food is a great way to save on waste and means you always have a healthy option available.
2. Don’t go overboard at the produce section – I love my fruit and veg and often fall victim to buying wayyyyy more than I ever need. Plan what you need, and if you still have extra freeze it that way you always have fruit and veg at hand to make up smoothies.
3. Make a budget & stick to it – This one may be hard but if you have a budget in mind you are more likely to stick to it, also look for coupons and deals that are useful to you don’t go for it if it isn’t!

IMG_0306

Morning Newbies,

I hope you all had a lovely Valentines day,I made these yesterday as a surprise for my boyfriend and he loved them!

They are perfect for busy mornings where you just need to get up and go as they can be eaten on the run.

Ingredients
– 1 banana mashed
– 100g apple puree
– 50g melted coconut oil
– 4 tbsp honey
– 150g natural yogurt
– 2 eggs
– 50g rolled oats
– 200g wholewheat flour
– 2 tsp bicarbonate of soda/baking powder
– 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
– 100g blueberries

Method

1. Heat the oven to 180 degrees and line a muffin tin with cases
2. Mix all the wet ingredients together then add in all the dry ingredients including blueberries. Do not over mix as this will cause the muffins to be heavy.
3. Pour mixture in to the muffin cases and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

I added some seeds to the top before baking, let me know if you get creative with your toppings!

Love your body!

love

Morning Lovies,

Since it is Valentines day I thought I would share some love with you all whether you are single or in a relationship, the person you should love first and foremost is yourself!

We are all on fitness journeys and something we shouldn’t get caught up in is the end result, you should love your body every step of the process as it is changing and transforming which is really difficult trust me! I struggle to love my body but I am more accepting of myself and I know that pushing myself as much as I do makes me happy and I feel better for doing it. I said it in a post a few months ago that you need to become the best version of you not of anyone else.

My challenge to you is to look in the mirror and find something positive about your body that you like and daily remind yourself of it could be as simple as you think your arms are great, or you love your hair, or you think you have good legs. Tell yourself that daily and you will start to feel so much better about yourself!

Another great thing to do is set yourself an intention each morning these help keep me grounded throughout the day and do a little yoga routine, take 5 minutes out your day to remind yourself why you are taking the path you have chosen. This will help you realise and see all the amazing changes you have made.

Some of my favourite intentions are:

  • Today will be a beautiful day
  • Be grateful for those who are in your life
  • Respect people, if you expect to respected

So take some time today to think about YOU, we all know you deserve it.

Healthy on a budget

food

Hey everyone,

This is a little bit of a different post but I thought it was needed! Most people complain that healthy living is really expensive but it doesn’t have to be and here are my top tips and secrets to eating the best you can.

1. Make Lidl and Aldi your new BFF’s – These places are great for food shopping and one of the best things ? Most of it is local and will help farmers near you which is a bonus. I love shopping here I save so much money and all their fruit and veg outlasts any other. Also you are more likely to eat seasonally if you shop here another bonus to the environment.
2. Preparation – Before heading to the shops write a list of what you need and only get whats on the list, that way you know that you need it and you will use it!. I also like to think of what I will make for tea and lunch that way I can buy ingredients that can be intermixed and I know when I get home what I have in the fridge to whip up what I fancy.
3. Don’t shop when your hungry! – Its proven if you shop when your hungry that you will make unhealthy choices which wont help with yout fitness journey.
4. Holland and Barrett – This is a health food store in the UK and you can get great deals when they have the penny sale on, I use it to buy green powders and cocoa at a fraction of the price its all about being savvy!

I am infact a student and I have a full time job at the moment as it is part of my university course. This does not mean that I go crazy on food shops I usually spend about £25 a week on everything.

If you have any tips please comment and let me know, Im a girl who loves a bargain.
